What made it hard
Most "AI resume scores" are a model's opinion: run the same resume twice and you get two different numbers. A score that moves on its own is a score nobody can act on.
The build had to keep the score honest and repeatable, keep the AI useful without inventing achievements, and let someone see real value before being asked to sign up for anything.

Not "build a resume" but "why does my resume get rejected?" Answering that honestly became the free scan, and everything else grew from it.
Made the score deterministic
The scoring rules were defined and weighted before any AI was added, so the number stays stable and explainable. AI does the rewriting; it doesn't decide the grade.
Value before signup
Paste the job description, upload, see the score — then sign up to rebuild. A three-step flow that lets people judge the product before handing over an email.
